British tennis star Emma Raducanu ends this year's campaign and has decided to continue with coach through next year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the last two tournaments this season due to the illness she has been battling in recent days.

At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to regain her health ahead of launching her preparations for 2026.

These plans will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as they have decided to continue collaborating again next season.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match versus Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the deciding set against Zhu due to the lower back problem that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after a long gap since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to Pegula in the third stage in Beijing last month.

Raducanu won 28 matches this year and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her most impressive week was at March's Miami Open.

The British number one reached the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over for the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
